Blog #4: Consider the Lobster

The author David Foster Wallace told his readers about the Maine Lobster Festival. He describes the festival as he sees it, a country fair with a culinary aspect. He goes on to say it is an upgrade from some festivals but also has features he criticizes. He then talks about the treatment of lobsters. He tells the reader about how until the 1800s the lobster was seen as low-class food. Before they were thought to be unhealthy for individuals. Later people for out they are low in calories and has low cholesterol. David Wallace also describes the controversy of cooking them. He goes on to touch on how PETA sees the festival and the inhuman ways that are involved with cooking the lobsters in front of everyone. Those without seeing a problem believe lobsters’ have no frontal lobe; therefore, no pain receivers. He gives specific, in depth, details of the main point he shares. As a good writer, he also doesn't right on one view of the topic but many. Most of the article but the beginning sounded like a research paper. He described the anatomy of the lobster, their history, and facts on how the behave now. He informed the readers of the argument being held and some facts on each side.
